About Us

At Monkey Bar Gymnasium we are dedicated to changing the fitness industry by returning people to the true meaning of “Physical Culture.” It is our mission to have our clients attain a high level of physical fitness, which will allow them to maximize their enjoyment and quality of life. You won’t be on your own, winging it, like at typical gyms. You’ll get individualized attention from a professional instructor. We train in a group environment that will make you feel like you are part of a cohesive team united in pursuit of a common goal.

No Machines, No Problems!

We do not use machines in our training but prefer to use bodyweight exercises, kettlebells, and other non-traditional methods to improve your ability to move and sustain work. We do not train body parts in isolation but rather in realistic and functional patterns. We Run, We Crawl, We Climb, We Jump and we have a great time doing it! To address any potential misalignments you may have we incorporate alignment and mobility work into our daily workouts to improve upon any potential limitations. To make our bodies strong from the inside out we also encourage our clients to eat as much plant-based, whole foods as possible to provide the body with the proper nutrition that it requires.

How Do You Get Started?

In order to begin training with us you must schedule an orientation. During the orientation, if needed, you will be given a Functional Movement Screening. This is a standardized assessment that looks at seven movement patterns. Once this is completed we move on to instruction in some of our core kettlebell lifts. We finish with an explanation on how to use the Jungle Gym XT and the basics of the Power Wheel. We do this so that we know you are ready to begin training and you are prepared. The orientation is included in your first month’s membership and it will last between 75 and 90 minutes. Once completed you will be able to begin your journey with us.

How do I set up an Orientation?

Orientations are by appointment. They are scheduled when classes are not in session. This means we can do it between 10:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. during the day. We can also schedule them for Friday night at 7:30 p.m. as well as the weekends. We will work to accommodate your schedule. You can email us dates and times that you may be available with your number and we can contact you to set it up.

How are classes formatted?

We offer classes Monday thru Saturday. Classes given on Monday, Wednesday and Friday focus on strength work while classes given on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday focus on conditioning work. Classes begin with a warm-up and explanation of the workout for the day and conclude with a cool down. Classes are 60 minutes in duration.

Our lives are lived between two breaths our first and our last. What we do in that time is our legacy. Maximize that time by challenging yourself to achieve things you never thought possible.
